Tokyo Olympics 2021:
Tokyo Olympics 2021 had games such as Badminton, Archery, Hockey, Shooting, Wrestling, and 23 other games. India at Olympics, a total of 129 Indian Athletes reached on the grounds for the Tokyo Olympics out of which 67 Indian Athletes were male and the rest 52 were females. The participants had reported and started with their participation in the games. All the Covid-19 protocols and safety measures were followed throughout the game. After a mandatory covid test, all participants were allowed to take part in the Tokyo Olympics.
India Acing the Game




India at Olympics grabbed a total of 7 medals. 1 Gold, 2 Silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. India had broken its record of 2020 in which it bagged 6 medals in total and in the year 2021 it had a total of 7 medals in its name. The name of the players who have won the medals are listed below:
1. Neeraj Chopra- Gold
2. Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Mirabai Chanu – Silver
3. P V Sindhu, Lovlina Borgohain, Indian Hockey Team, and Bajrang Punia bagged Bronze.
Neeraj Chopra- Gold Medalist




Neeraj Chopra’s winning of Gold in Javelin throw made all the Indians proud and even the international players conveyed wishes as an 86.58-meter Javelin throw is itself a record and it could be beaten by anyone. The Indians were waiting for a long time for gold and Neeraj Chopra did it.
Ravi Kumar Dahiya- Silver




In the 57 Kg wrestling category, Ravi Kumar Dahiya made it to the finals but could not make it up to gold. He bagged a silver which is itself an achievement in Indian history. He had an extreme semi-final which would later be read like stories in the forthcoming years.
Mirabai Chanu- Silver medalist




In the 49 Kg weightlifting category, Mirabai Chanu aced it. She proved how you can be what you wish to be. She said that how she used to make her way along with the stadium by taking lifts from passing trucks and the way she had managed to grab a medal, will be an inspiration for millions.
P.V Sindhu- Bronze medalist




P.V Sindhu, well know for her badminton games has bagged a bronze medal in the Women’s singles Badminton game. She has been the first female athlete who has achieved 2 silver medals and all Indians wish that this aspiring girl touches extreme heights.
Lovlina Borgohain – Bronze medalist




Under the women’s welterweight boxing, Lovlina Borgohain made it to the bronze medal. Throughout her journey, her parents supported her. She is a resident of Assam, Golaghat district, and has made it to a bronze medal.
Indian Hockey Team- Bronze




After a longing of 40 years, the Indian hockey team made it to bronze this time. It was for the very first time that India had qualified for the Semifinals in hockey. The women’s team also made it to the Semi-finals, aced the game. The performance of both Indian teams is worth appreciation.
Bajrang Punia- Bronze




In the wrestling 65 Kg category, Bajrang Punia grabbed a bronze medal. He has also managed to win many gold medals in events and this time he won a bronze in Tokyo Olympics, making Indians proud.
All the medalists of India at Olympics, as well as the participants, have performed exceptionally well in the Tokyo Olympics and all performances are worth appreciation.

Till then, he was home quarantined and his family members and other passengers were home quarantined. A 20-year-old who came from Italy tested positive. A man who returned from Ireland to Andhra Pradesh was tested positive for Omicron. Maharashtra has the maximum number of cases.The ICMR unit in Assam has developed a new testing kit to detect Omicron in two hours.The WHO warned the nations of the Asia Pacific region to boost healthcare capacity and full vaccinate their people.

India’s Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021

Harnaaz Sandhu, a 21 year old from India, represented India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021 which was held at Eilat, Israel.
In 2000, Lara Dutta won the title of Miss Universe.
She was presented the crown by Andrea Meza, the former Miss Universe of 2020 from Mexico which was live-streamed all across the world.
The first runner up was from Paraguay and second runner up was from South Africa.

In the top three rounds, the contestants were asked what advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?
Harnaaz Sandhu answered this question amazingly. She said the biggest pressure the youth of today is facing, is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide. Come out and speak for yourself, because you’re the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own. I believed in myself and that is why I am standing here today.

The proposal from the government which addresses the pending issues has been accepted by farmer unions and the farmer union will be meeting the government on Thursday (9th December 2021) at noon.
Farmer union to meet the government and decide further movement
The farmer union, SKM (Samyukta Kisan Morcha) accepted the government proposal which addresses the pending issues of farmers.
It was on Tuesday (7th December 2021) when the central government sent the draft to the farmer union which is a five-member committee. Sources have indicated that once the final draft of the proposal agreed by both the parties is received by the union, the farmers’ protest which started on 26 November 2020 will end.
The issues listed in the draft were Surety on Minimum Support Price, withdrawal of the draft Electricity Amendments Bill, 2020/2021, withdrawal of criminal cases against the farmers, and also compensation for the families of farmers who died during the protest.
The SKM said that they will be meeting the government at Singhu Border on Thursday at noon to come up with a formal decision and later end the protest.
