The season will begin on this day, with the final on October 15th.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set a date for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which will be staged in the United Arab Emirates. The very first game after the reopening will take place on September 19, with the final taking place on October 15 — Dussehra Day in India this year.

The conversations went well, and the National Board is hopeful that the subsequent IPL games would be successful in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. “The talks went incredibly well, and with the ECB giving us the go-ahead to hold the event prior to the BCCI SGM, it was just a matter of finalizing the deal in the last week. After the season restarts, the first encounter will be on September 19, followed by the final on October 15. The BCCI has consistently advocated for a 25-day window to complete the remaining matches,” the official explained.

The conversations have begun, and we are crossing our fingers that the majority of the overseas players will be accessible. If a few of them fail to show up, we’ll have to make a decision about what to do next. But, for the time being, we’re crossing our fingers and hope for an action-packed finish to the 14th edition in the UAE,” states the official.

Companies are also optimistic that the BCCI will engage in constructive dialogue with foreign bodies and make players accessible for the remaining games.

BCCI

“Following the BCCI SGM, we learned that the board will contact other boards to inquire about the availability of international cricketers. We are optimistic that the BCCI will find the most suitable solution. It’s because this is a question of BCCI officials discussing with the board authorities, we should wait for a response from the board.

“Yes, if we do wind up losing some of the international stars, it is an issue that would require some thought when it comes to replacing them, as overseas players are as important to the teams. “Teamwork can be a toss-up, so we’re crossing our fingers on that one,” a company executive said.
